The Business of Cooking was born out of a related business, Chez Bay Gourmet Cooking School. Chez Bay Gourmet which was established in 2002 serves home cooks, personal chefs, caterers and provides continuing education for chefs and restaurateurs. Chez Bay Gourmet classes all have one thing in common - cooking! The Business of Cooking is a complement to the cooking school in that it provides the behind-the-scenes knowledge and training where the cooking leaves off.

The principal consultant of the Business of Cooking is Joel Goldfarb with a myriad of backgrounds including business administration, accounting, French and of course, culinary arts including baking and pastry. Joel received his education both through formal study and through lifelong learning in culinary and wine travels through North America, Europe and Australia and New Zealand. Joel formerly held positions in multinational companies and has been a consultant. Joel has appeared on both television and radio teaching and discussing food. In May 2008, join our radio show "The Business of Cooking" on BlogTalkRadio.

Joel has taught cooking and business in California, North Carolina and France. He has appeared on television and radio.
